not your average co2

at mythology aesthetics we utilize a fractionally ablative co2 device, this differs from fully ablative treatments you often see online.

fractionally ablative vs full ablative

fractional co2 lasers use focused light beams to create microscopic treatment zones on the skin, targeting a fraction (hence the fractional) of the skin at a time. these lasers penetrate deep into the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting cell regeneration; resulting in overall skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. due to the laser only treating a fraction of the skin’s surface, the surrounding tissue remains untouched, allowing for faster healing.

fully ablative lasers remove the entire outer layer of the skin and penetrate deep into the dermis. this is what gives you those dramatic results with only one treatment, however you face significant downtime, upwards of 2 weeks before you may feel up to going back out and about.

while we can achieve the same results as a fully ablative laser, it will take multiple sessions for those dramatic results you often see with full removal of your skin (fully ablative), but the downtime is significantly less than. so, less downtime and more treatments (but the same results).

our co2 skin resurfacing options

coolpeel (best in a series of 3 or as maintenance)

a light co2 resurfacing treatment designed for prevention and skin maintenance. helps support collagen production and improve tone and texture. not intended for corrective or deep resurfacing needs. social downtime 1–2 days with mild redness, warmth, and possible “sandpaper-like” texture as skin recovers. series of (3) is highly encouraged.

mild co2 (series of 2 or 3 depending on skin quality)

a mild co2 resurfacing treatment for early aging and texture changes (fine lines, dullness, and the first signs of folds), without skin laxity. recovery is typically 3–5 days and may include redness, tightness, and light peeling as the skin renews. series of (2) is highly encouraged.

intensive co2 (2 sessions for a complete 180 of your skin)

an intense co2 laser — corrective texture & early laxity

ideal for more noticeable aging changes — fine lines, rough texture, and the first signs of sagging or jowls. recovery is typically 7–14 days with swelling, redness, and a temporary crusted/peeling phase as the skin renews.
